Angela Lopez was honored by the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association as a 2022 “Woman of Distinction.” The award is a special recognition highlighting Latinas lawyers in Dallas as part of a 2022 partnership between the DHBA and LATINA Style Inc.
Angela Lopez is Section Head of the Immigration Practice as Cowles Thompson. She has practiced Immigration Law exclusively since 2002 and has developed a large national practice representing foreign nationals and their employers in obtaining temporary employment nonimmigrant visas and permanent residence.
Angela began her career in 1989 as a Deputy District Attorney and Town solicitor in Colombia, South America. In 1993, she worked with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Family Service Officer. In 1998, Angela relocated to Texas and completed her Masters in International and Comparative Law (LLM) at SMU. Angela is a past-Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Immigration and a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. Her recent honors for Immigration Law include Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers in Dallas; and Texas Diversity Council’s Top 50 Women Lawyers in Dallas.
